Data Engineer (DBT / Data Warehousing Focus) Overview

Seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer to support a high‑visibility retail analytics initiative. This is a project‑focused role responsible for building, modifying, and optimizing production‑grade data pipelines within an existing DBT‑driven environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep SQL expertise, strong DBT experience in production, and solid data warehousing architecture knowledge (including medallion architecture). This is a highly execution‑focused role requiring strong technical depth.

• Advanced SQL expertise (critical requirement)
• Deep experience with CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and performance optimization
• 2‑3+ years of DBT experience in production environments
• Strong experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data architecture
• Experience working with medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers)
• Experience building, modifying, and maintaining production data pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms
• Python (supporting skill SQL is primary)
• Experience using development tools such as VS Code
• Exposure to AI/LLMs and use of AI‑assisted development (hands‑on depth not required)

• Experience with Dagster (scheduling/orchestration)
• Tableau or experience supporting data analysts and analytics use cases
• Retail analytics domain experience
