The ideal candidate is a Power BI expert who understands how to design and maintain a governed semantic model, streamline reporting across platforms (Power BI and SSRS), and unify data from multiple operating data sources into a single source of truth for management reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end Power BI environment, including data models, datasets, work spaces, security, and deployment best practices.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize a centralized semantic model that supports self-service analytics while ensuring data consistency and performance.
  • Establish and enforce BI standards for data modeling, DAX, report design, naming conventions, and documentation.
  • Manage Power BI performance tuning, refresh strategies, and scalability as data volumes and user adoption grow.
  • Develop and maintain executive, operational, and financial dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Partner with operational leadership (Construction, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Care, etc.) to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
  • Troubleshoot data, model, and report issues, providing timely root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • Lead efforts to simplify and streamline existing reports, eliminating redundancy and improving usability.
  • Support user adoption through training, documentation, and best practices for consuming Power BI reports.
  • Consume and integrate data from multiple operating locations and source systems into a consolidated reporting platform.
  • Partner with IT, Data Engineering, and external vendors to ensure reliable data pipelines and data quality.
  • Support and enhance reporting that spans multiple systems, including ERP, scheduling, CRM, and finance platforms.
  • Maintain and rationalize existing SSRS reports.
  • Lead the transition of appropriate SSRS reporting to Power BI where it adds value, while retaining SSRS where operationally required.
  • Ensure consistent definitions and metrics across Power BI and SSRS platforms.
  • Continually seek to improve reports and processes.
  • Oversee project plans, manage resource allocation, monitor milestones, ensure delivery on schedule and budget.
  • Assist with other special projects, reports and analyses as directed by management.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or other related fields of study required with graduate level work highly desired.
  • 5+ years working experience in business intelligence, data analysis, and creation of insightful visualized analytics.
  • Advanced expertise in Power BI, including:
    • Data modeling and star schema design
    • DAX (measures, time intelligence, performance optimization)
    • Power BI Service administration, security (RLS), and deployment
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining enterprise BI architectures.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems into a unified reporting environment.
  • Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders and deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational data sources preferred.
  • Expert working knowledge in Python, R, SAS, or other data analysis/exploration language a plus.
  • Prior finance experience in construction, homebuilding, or real estate experience a plus
  • Understanding of accounting basics and financial statements a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to details.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with and maintain good working relationships with personnel within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to execute good judgment in handling multiple priorities and open-ended tasks, and keeping management apprised as to status and issues.
  • Pleasant, professional demeanor.
