The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and continuously enhancing enterprise and manufacturing network environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled engineer who wants to play a key role in collaborated environment of architecture design, infrastructure upgrades, and solution-driven modernization initiatives that strengthen the backbone of a multi-site network infrastructure.
This position operates within a highly collaborative environment, partnering closely with infrastructure teams, security teams, cloud engineers, plant operations, and leadership to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions.
The role is hands‑on and technical, serving as the senior escalation point for complex network incidents while leading modernization efforts such as SD‑WAN/SASE implementations, Palo Alto firewall upgrades, Azure and AWS cloud connectivity, Zero Trust access strategies, and IT/OT network segmentation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise, with the ability to identify root causes, implement sustainable fixes, and proactively reduce risk through monitoring and automation. This role supports secure, high‑availability connectivity across multiple locations and production‑critical operational technology (OT) environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and collaborate on the design, upgrade, and modernization of enterprise and plant network infrastructure, reinforcing core backbone systems across multiple sites.
- Work in a cross‑functional, collaborative environment to align network solutions with business, security, and operational objectives.
- Execute major network transformation initiatives including Palo Alto firewall upgrades, SD‑WAN deployments, switch refresh programs, VLAN redesign efforts, and cloud connectivity integration.
- Provide day‑to‑day operational support for LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, firewall, and VPN services across corporate and manufacturing sites.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues impacting business applications and production systems, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
- Serve as the senior escalation resource for routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and wireless incidents, restoring services quickly in production‑critical environments.
- Implement and maintain secure access controls including Cisco ISE, Zero Trust frameworks, and IT/OT segmentation strategies.
- Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configuration standards, runbooks, and change management records.
- Participate in change planning, validation, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance performance, resiliency, and security.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience required.
- 7+ years of hands‑on enterprise network engineering experience required.
- Proven experience working across multiple sites or geographically distributed environments.
- Experience contributing to backbone infrastructure upgrades and enterprise‑wide modernization initiatives.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross‑functional team environments.
- Manufacturing or OT networking exposure strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
- Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or equivalent hands‑on expertise are highly desirable.
- Strong expertise in Cisco routing and switching platforms (Cisco ISE (802.1X, MAB, policy sets, TACACS+, RADIUS)
- Proficiency with OSPF, BGP, Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting, VLANs, STP, trunking, and Ether Channel.
- Hands‑on experience managing firewall platforms (Palo Alto preferred), including zones, security policies, NAT, and VPN configurations.
- Solid understanding of high‑availability architectures including firewall HA, redundancy design, and failover testing.
- Experience supporting WAN and SD‑WAN connectivity (MPLS, broadband circuits, overlay networks, dynamic path selection).
- Working familiarity with enterprise wireless environments (Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, or equivalent).
- Strong documentation and diagramming capabilities (e.g., Visio), including development of configuration standards and operational runbooks.
- Demonstrated strength in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex network issues under pressure, particularly in production‑critical environments.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to proactively identify, communicate, and remediate infrastructure risks in a team‑oriented setting.
