Position: Software Engineer, DevOps (Web Platform)

Overview

Field

AI’s Irvine team is where embodied AI meets real robots, real sensors, and real field deployments. Based in Southern California’s robotics ecosystem, we build risk-aware, reliable, field-ready AI systems that solve the hardest problems in robotics and unlock the full potential of embodied intelligence. If you want your work to ship, get tested on hardware, and improve through real deployments, Irvine is the place.

We go beyond typical data-driven approaches or pure transformer-only architectures, combining rigorous engineering with learning systems proven in globally deployed solutions that deliver results today and get better every time our robots run in the field.

Field

AI is building web-based products that power real-world robotic deployments. As our systems scale, ensuring reliable releases and stable production environments is critical.

What You ll Do

We’re looking for a Dev Ops Engineer, Web Platform to own release reliability, deployment systems, and production stability across our web stack. You will ensure that new features ship safely, systems scale cleanly, and production issues are caught before they impact customers.

This is a hands-on role focused on CI/CD, testing infrastructure, and Kubernetes-based deployments — working closely with full-stack and production teams to keep our systems fast, reliable, and continuously improving.

Responsibilities
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines for web services and applications (Node.js, React)
  • Design and maintain release processes that ensure safe, reliable deployments
  • Build and enforce testing and validation workflows to catch issues before production
  • Manage and scale containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes) in AWS
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and uptime across production environments
  • Partner with full-stack engineers to improve deployment velocity and system stability
  • Debug and resolve production issues across application, infrastructure, and deployment layers
  • Improve observability, logging, and alerting to proactively detect failures
Qualifications
  • 3-8 years of experience in Dev Ops, infrastructure, or production engineering roles
  • Strong experience with AWS and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git Hub Actions or similar)
  • Familiarity with modern web stacks (Node.js, Type Script, React)
  • Experience managing production systems and debugging real-world issues
  • Understanding of testing strategies for release reliability and system validation
  • Strong ownership mindset with a focus on system stability and quality
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams
What Sets You Apart
  • Experience owning release processes and production readiness for web applications
  • Experience improving system reliability, uptime, and deployment safety at scale
  • Familiarity with Mongo

DB or similar databases in production environments
  • Experience building internal tooling to improve developer workflows
  • Experience in fast-paced startup environments

Our salary range is generous and we consider each individual’s background and experience when determining final compensation. Base pay may vary based on role scope, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the Irvine, California market.

Be Part of the Next Robotics Revolution

We are looking for builders who want their work to leave the whiteboard and show up on robots. If you enjoy tackling tough, uncharted questions and working across disciplines, you will find your people here. Our teams span AI, software, robotics engineering, product, field deployment, and technical communication, all focused on shipping systems that perform in the real world.

Our headquarters is in Irvine, and we partner closely with teams there as well as colleagues across the US and around the world. Join us in Southern California and help define what dependable, field-ready autonomy looks like.

We value diverse perspectives and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace. We evaluate candidates and employees based on merit, qualifications, and performance, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or any other legally protected statu

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
