About The Job
Business Intelligence Data Engineer
Job SummaryThe Data Engineer will be responsible for the full cycle of data warehousing development, including analyzing business requirements, designing ETL processes using dimensional modeling, and presenting data for reporting consumption.
Responsibilities- Work with business requirements to identify and understand source data systems; resolve data issues and coordinate with data analysts to validate requirements.
- Map source system data to data warehouse tables.
- Develop and test ETL/ELT processes, validate data flows, and prepare all ETL/ELT according to business requirements.
- Define and capture metadata, rules, and documentation for ETL processes.
- Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business requirements.
- Collaborate with developers and business users to gather required data and execute ETL programs and scripts.
- Provide support and maintenance for ETL processes and documentation.
- Build partnerships across application, business, and infrastructure teams.
- Continuously improve software delivery processes and practices.
- Champion company standards and best practices.
- Four‑year college degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry experience as a Business Intelligence Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, or Data Scientist.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Expertise in ETL tools such as Matillion, Informatica, SSIS, ODI, or similar, and data manipulation languages such as Python, SAS, or R.
- Extensive experience in data warehousing development: star schema modeling, slowly changing dimensions, row‑level security, and standard DW architecture/processes.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting and production support.
- Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, EC2, and S3.
- Strong analytic skills for working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Project management and organizational skills, experience on complex initiatives with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience connecting data sets to data visualization tools and creating reports using Power
BI or other visualization tools.
