Job Summary
The Product Data Management Specialist uses strategy and analytics to improve the digital shopping experience via improved product data. This role owns what data is available for each product to aid in the presentation, promotion, and discoverability across the site and app to maximize conversion, revenue, and customer engagement. The role partners closely with merchandising, marketing, content operations, product, and UX teams to ensure the right products are surfaced to the right customers at the right time.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and track attribute completeness and accuracy.
- Improve onsite product discovery via enhanced metadata to drive conversion and revenue growth.
- Setup recurring audits & compliance processes to monitor accuracy and completeness.
- Assess and improve structured product content guidelines for data consistency.
- Work with Product, Engineering and BI to syndicate the metadata availability and usage across various systems to maximize visibility and impact across all platforms (app, web, etc).
- Utilize AI tools to enrich metadata to improve speed, accuracy and breadth.
- Collaborate with Product and Content Operations to define requirements for product metadata as we onboard a new PIM and CMS tool, including enhanced images, videos, translations and key attributes by category.
- Work closely with data science and BI to define, create and own the key metrics used to determine strategies and actions.
- Work closely with regional teams to adjust the global metadata regional needs across the globe.
- Coordinate with Merchandising to support strategic priorities by category, brand, etc.
- Partner with Product & BI to track the impact to AoV, Conversion and Add to Cart of the metadata improvements.
- Use data and experimentation (A/B testing, personalization, and behavioral insights) to continuously improve site performance.
- Strong experience managing digital storefronts for high‑traffic ecommerce platforms.
- Understanding of ecommerce KPIs including conversion, add‑to‑cart, AOV, and revenue per visitor.
- Experience building the foundations of a site merchandising function including tools, reporting and processes – with particular focus on product metadata.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to drive merchandising decisions.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with marketing, product, UX, and engineering teams.
- Proven ability to translate data into clear recommendations and influence cross‑functional partners.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and imperfect data in a fast‑moving environment.
- Experience in health, wellness, supplements, or consumer packaged goods ecommerce.
- Familiarity with merchandising tools, search platforms, and personalization engines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred.
7+ years of ecommerce merchandising experience.
Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (MBA or Master's a plus, not required).
Anticipated Pay Scale$125,000—$135,000 USD
