Position OverviewWe are looking for a hands‑on Computer & Laptop Repair Technician to take ownership of all hardware‑related work.
This role is focused specifically on:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and building computers
- Handling physical device issues
- Supporting day‑to‑day repair operations
This is NOT a helpdesk or MSP‑heavy role initially.
Core Responsibilities Hardware Repair (Primary Focus)- Diagnose and repair desktops and laptops
- Replace components (RAM, SSD, HDD, PSU, motherboard, screens, batteries, etc.)
- Perform hardware upgrades and system rebuilds
- Assemble and configure custom PCs and workstations
- Perform internal cleanings and thermal maintenance
- Troubleshoot performance issues, overheating, and hardware failures
- Install and configure Windows and common applications
- Resolve basic OS issues (drivers, startup errors)
- Remove malware and optimize system performance
- Perform data backup and transfer when needed
- Keep repair workflow organized
- Document work completed
- Handle multiple devices efficiently
- Maintain quality and consistency in repairs
- Managed IT services (RMM, ticket systems, client infrastructure)
- Advanced networking or server work
- Microsoft 365 administration (beyond basic setup)
- Client account management
(This role is strictly focused on repair and hardware work)
Requirements- 1–3 years of hands‑on computer/laptop repair experience
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware and diagnostics
- Comfortable replacing internal components
- Experience building PCs or upgrading systems
- Basic knowledge of Windows troubleshooting
- Detail‑oriented and organized
- Experience in a repair shop environment
- macOS familiarity
- CompTIA A or similar
- Part‑time or Full‑time
- Hourly pay based on experience
- Onsite (Irvine area)
- Repairs completed efficiently and correctly
- Minimal rework or mistakes
- Organized and reliable workflow
- Able to handle multiple devices independently
- Opportunity to expand into IT support / MSP work over time
- Skill development in networking and advanced systems
