ERP Manager - Dynamics 365 Business Central

Our client is seeking an experienced ERP Manager to lead the implementation, optimization, and long-term ownership of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as their enterprise ERP platform. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly within the system while serving as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT leadership, and external implementation partners.

This is not a purely managerial position. The successful candidate will play an active role in system configuration, business process design, testing, user adoption, and ongoing ERP administration.

The ERP Manager will serve as the internal owner of the Business Central environment, ensuring the platform is configured to support business operations, drive process improvements, and scale with future organizational growth.

Location: Preference for candidates located on the West Coast, with remote flexibility for the right individual. Travel will be required as needed.

• Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Perform hands‑on configuration across core Business Central modules, including Finance, Inventory, Supply Chain, Sales, and Purchasing.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the ERP implementation partner.
• Drive project scope, issue resolution, and cross‑functional alignment.
• Coordinate key implementation milestones including data migration, Conference Room Pilots (CRP), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Act as the internal subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Advise business leaders on system capabilities, configuration decisions, and process improvements.
• Establish ERP governance standards and best practices.
• Ensure the solution supports both current business needs and future scalability.
• Configure and maintain Business Central across multiple functional areas.
• Troubleshoot system issues, integrations, and performance concerns.
• Manage enhancements, change requests, and ongoing system optimization.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency through ERP capabilities.

• Provide day‑to‑day ERP administration and post‑go‑live support.
• Lead user training, documentation, and adoption initiatives.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and user guides.
• Support business users by resolving issues and improving overall system usability.

• Coordinate integrations between Business Central and CRM, reporting, and other business applications.
• Partner with IT and data teams to maintain data integrity across systems.
• Ensure ERP data structures support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Experience participating in or leading Business Central implementation projects.
• Strong hands‑on experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Business Central.
• Experience working with external ERP implementation partners or consulting firms.
• Strong understanding of Business Central modules, workflows, and best practices.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Proven ability to serve as the internal ERP subject matter expert.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Automate.
• Experience with Dataverse and Business Central integrations.
• Background supporting ERP governance, data migration, and change management initiatives.
• Experience with in distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, or other product‑based organizations.
