Position Summary:

The Cloud Systems Engineer builds, secures, automates, and operates enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and OCI. This role provides hands‑on cloud engineering support for infrastructure automation, security, resiliency, operational support, and continuous improvement. Works with infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and application teams to implement secure, scalable, recoverable, and cost‑effective cloud solutions in accordance with established standards and designs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, operate, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and OCI; provide hands‑on cloud engineering support.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, cloud networking, IAM, security controls, monitoring, and governance configurations using established standards.
  • Support cloud migrations, modernization initiatives, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, support capacity and performance management, and identify cloud cost optimization opportunities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, participate in technical reviews, collaborate with engineering teams, and evaluate cloud technologies.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, platform, or cloud engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on public cloud experience supporting production environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following platforms:
    Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Experience supporting production infrastructure and resolving operational issues.
  • Experience supporting Windows or Linux workloads in cloud environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in enterprise hybrid or multi‑cloud environments.
  • Exposure to enterprise cloud landing zones and governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or infrastructure modernization programs.
  • Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, or OKE.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms including Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, or Git.
  • Exposure to Fin Ops and cloud cost optimization practices.
  • Relevant AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud certifications preferred.
Knowledge and

Skills:

Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of cloud infrastructure engineering, administration, and operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or comparable technologies.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking, including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, security groups, and hybrid‑cloud connectivity.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), least‑privilege security models, secrets management, encryption, and certificate management.
  • Proficiency with one or more automation and scripting tools such as Power Shell, Python, Bash, APIs, or cloud‑native automation technologies.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, high availability, and resiliency principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, authentication, and application dependencies.
  • Strong technical documentation, diagramming, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently complete assigned technical work and contribute to projects from implementation through operational support.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of cloud‑native services, managed databases, serverless technologies, and application integration services.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, logging, or SIEM platforms.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) disciplines including incident, problem, change, configuration, and capacity management.
