Insurance Underwriter

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Auto Insurance Underwriter to join our growing brokerage team. In this role, you will evaluate auto insurance risks, price policies accurately, and ensure compliance with carrier guidelines and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting profitable growth while delivering competitive and compliant insurance solutions.

• Evaluate and underwrite personal and/or commercial auto insurance submissions in accordance with carrier guidelines
• Analyze risk factors such as driving history, vehicle usage, claims history, and coverage needs
• Determine appropriate coverage terms, limits, deductibles, and premiums
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and carrier partners to obtain underwriting information
• Prepare quotes, bind coverage, and process endorsements and renewals
• Ensure underwriting decisions align with internal policies, carrier requirements, and regulatory standards
• Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and emerging risk trends
• Identify opportunities to enhance coverage solutions when appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation within underwriting and CRM systems
• Support audits, reporting, and compliance reviews as required

• 1+ years of underwriting experience in auto insurance (brokerage experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of personal and/or commercial auto insurance products
• Familiarity with underwriting guidelines, rating tools, and policy forms
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain underwriting decisions clearly
• Proficiency with underwriting platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools
• English required;
  Spanish language skills are a plus but not required

Pay: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
