This position plays a critical role in protecting client settlements by negotiating and resolving medical and insurance liens so clients retain the maximum recovery possible.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience handling complex lien matters, communicates confidently with providers and insurers, and understands how lien resolution directly impacts client outcomes.
English fluency is required, and Spanish is a plus, as many of our clients are native Spanish speakers and rely on clear, compassionate communication throughout the settlement process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Negotiate and resolve a broad range of liens, including:
Hospital and medical provider liens, Med-Pay, ERISA, and private insurance claims, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other government liens, Workers’ compensation and subrogation claims - Communicate with lienholders and billing departments in both English. Spanish a plus, but not mandatory.
- Review medical billing records and lien documentation to verify accuracy and identify reduction opportunities
- Prepare lien reduction requests with supporting documentation and maintain detailed records of negotiations
- Coordinate with attorneys, case managers, and accounting staff to support timely settlement disbursements
- Track lien status, follow up on outstanding matters, and obtain releases prior to distribution of settlement funds
- Maintain organized lien notes and documentation within the firm’s case management system
- Fluency in English is required, and Spanish is a plus
- 3–5+ years of personal injury lien negotiation experience preferred
- Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance claims, and lien resolution processes
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with legal case management software such as Filevine, Smart Advocate, or similar systems
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high-volume caseload
- Familiarity with the personal injury settlement process is strongly preferred
