- Representing clients in court and defending clients.
- Selecting jurors, arguing motions, meeting with judges, and questioning witnesses during the course of a trial.
- Studying and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Presenting and summarizing cases to judges and juries.
- Preparing legal briefs and opinions, and filing appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
- Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
- Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
- Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the state and in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Litigation, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury Defense, Product Liability, Transportation, Personal Injury, and Commercial law.
- Proven background in the successful handling of substantive legal matters such as hearings, trials, deposition, mediations, and arbitration.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Ability to handle a large caseload and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
