This role supports strategic sourcing projects by deploying best practices, procurement tools, and negotiation skills. You will recommend long‑term agreements pre‑customer order award or at project release in compliance with FAR and commercial regulations, assist with LTA and pricing agreement activities, including obtaining forecasts, requesting quotes, and participating in term negotiations, and support engineering sourcing activities of new products.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Solicit and evaluate proposals/quotations, provide cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessments of suppliers at the time of proposal.
- Compete bid proposals and execute long‑term agreements for premier programs and/or customers with approval from the Sourcing & Commodity Manager.
- Work closely with the pricing team to submit proposal quotes in a timely manner to the customer.
- Provide target pricing for the tactical procurement team post‑contract award.
- Assist with the assembly of pre‑award documentation for anticipated contracts and purchases.
- Communicate any quote exception or any significant changes to a supplier's status regarding financial stability, delivery/quality performance, and pricing of parts.
- Assist engineering in sourcing parts and selecting suppliers to participate in development activities based on quality, lead time, cost‑effectiveness, and producibility.
- Negotiate long‑term contract agreements with key suppliers to obtain effective prices, terms, products, and services to support PPI, inventory reduction and WADPO.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the sourcing manager.
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or a relevant discipline.
- 1–2 years of applicable experience in bid evaluations and negotiating long‑term agreements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge or familiarity with FAR requirements preferred.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience executing long‑term agreements in support of supplier stock and reduced PPI.
- Familiarity sourcing products on the internet using COTS part numbers, material specifications or descriptions provided by engineering or program manager.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is a plus.
- Collaborative, constructive communication with coworkers, customers and others, respecting diversity and keeping commitments.
- Must be able to travel to resolve supplier issues when applicable.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule Competitive Compensation- Pay Range: $69,500 to $115,000 annually
