We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support purchasing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for procuring raw materials and production-related components, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with ERP/MRP systems, purchase orders, inventory management, and supplier communications. In addition to purchasing responsibilities, this position will support planning functions through forecasting, inventory analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities- Create and manage purchase orders based on MRP recommendations, production requirements, and inventory needs.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, pricing compliance, and adherence to lead times.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and support negotiations related to pricing, delivery schedules, and service levels.
- Track and manage shortages, backorders, and supply disruptions while communicating potential risks to internal stakeholders.
- Support forecasting and inventory planning activities to ensure material availability and appropriate inventory levels.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Operations, Quality, Receiving, and Engineering teams to resolve material-related issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, supplier, and item master data within ERP systems.
- Review inventory trends and recommend actions to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by coordinating material requirements and supplier readiness.
- Monitor purchasing and inventory metrics and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical drawings as needed to support purchasing decisions.
- Assist with domestic and international supplier coordination, including occasional support with imports, customs, and logistics activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
