Summary/Objective

The Custodian will clean and maintain the building, facilities, and equipment. The critical attributes and skills required for this position include manual hand skills, attention to detail, initiative, working well within a team, and ability to produce consistently high‑quality results. The Custodian will also work closely with the Facilities Technician and may assist with facility‑related tasks as needed, including minor maintenance support, event setup, and responding to urgent facility requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and FDA regulations including compliance to EN ISO 13485, Medical Device Quality Standards.
  • Comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental policies and procedures (DOPs), objectives, the quality assurance program, as well as safety and environmental standards.
  • Establish, build, and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and suppliers.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Read and interpret procedures, inspection procedures and comply with their requirements. All documents are written in English.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Practice and advocate good safety skills at all times.
  • Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.).
  • Clean windows and mirrors.
  • Remove waste and empty trash.
  • Maintain cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected.
  • Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Organize janitorial storage areas.
  • Respond to urgent situations, such as spills, that require quick action.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as vacuums and floor cleaners.
  • Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or the need for repairs or maintenance.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Preferred 1+ years related industry experience.
  • Ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high quality work and to detect when there are issues with equipment and perform or coordinate minor repairs if needed.
  • Ability to work on a computer with various programs to complete forms within the production system and complete online training.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and the ability to demonstrate active listening.
Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Works in an Office, Lab, Clean Room, and Warehouse environment, within a well‑lit work area with good ventilation and normal noise levels from lab, shop equipment, and clean room.
  • Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, clean‑room attire, and other equipment as applicable.
  • May work around cleaning chemicals and sanitizing products in accordance with SDS guidelines.
  • Sitting or standing at a production workstation with frequent walking; intermittently writing or using a keyboard to communicate through written means.
