Overview
MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Architectural Project Manager – Grocery to join our Client Programs Market team in Irvine, CA! You will be working in our Client Programs (CP) Market, where you will have the unique opportunity to work on global and national building programs with a focus on project and client leadership through all phases of design and delivery.
Our new Architectural Project Manager will lead project teams through all phases of project execution including contract management, design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration. They are also responsible for managing project schedules, and the financial performance of the work. Externally they focus on building strong client relationships, and upholding MG2’s standard for design excellence while serving as the main point of contact for all project related communication.
Responsibilities- Lead project teams through all project phases. Primary focus is on adherence to the contract, proper allocation of internal and external resources, ensuring project profitability, and maintaining consistent quality standards for all project deliverables.
- Ensure required contracts are in place prior to beginning execution of contract deliverables; review billing procedures and any client specific contract management requirements.
- Review all milestone‑based project schedules and staffing workplans; ensure alignment with all contractual obligations and provide training and support to Project Managers as required.
- Oversee and review completion of detailed Project Charters for all project teams or client programs.
- Oversee the development of project proposals and RFP responses as requested by Studio Leads or Principal‑in‑Charge.
- Continuously monitor project financial status and complete intermediate financial reviews with all Project Managers; communicate any risks and issues to studio leadership.
- Review weekly project updates issued by Project Managers. Identify any potential risks in the work and lead collaborative efforts to establish risk mitigation strategies as required.
- Assist Project Managers as required leading all internal and external project team meetings.
- Actively oversee all Quality Control procedures including review of all externally distributed project deliverables.
- Oversee all team activities during Construction Administration. Ensure project execution remains in alignment with contractual obligations and assist with any risk mitigation required throughout construction activities.
- Ensure project‑close out procedures are completed following substantial completion in conformance with client contract.
- Oversee consistent adoption of all Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Continuously manage the performance of team members; provide accurate and relevant feedback as needed.
- Performs monthly 1:1 check‑ins with all direct reports (People Managers Only).
- Conducts mid‑year check‑ins and year‑end performance reviews for all direct reports (People Managers Only).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
- Certification as a licensed professional preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams through all phases of milestone‑based project delivery; experience with a variety of project typologies is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of the design, documentation, and construction processes, including entitlements, permitting requirements, and project sequencing.
- Experience with staffing management and allocation of internal resources.
- Detailed understanding of business operations and project financial management.
- Familiarity with Revit, Auto‑CAD, and MS Office.
- Demon started expertise utilizing collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with billable work.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job‑related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $90,000 to $130,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
