We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Accounting to oversee core accounting operations and partner closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and an efficient close process. This individual will play a key leadership role within the finance organization, managing accounting managers and staff while helping scale processes and systems to support a growing business.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, strong operational accounting experience, and a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in complex or fast-moving environments.
Core Responsibilities- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of accounting managers and staff.
- Establish clear priorities and manage workload distribution across the accounting function.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Build scalable processes and team structures to support organizational growth.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
- Ensure the consistent application of U.S. GAAP across all accounting processes.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation.
- Partner with the Controller to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and other departments to support business initiatives.
- Provide accounting guidance related to operational changes, new business activities, and system improvements.
- Support operational decision-making through financial insight and technical accounting expertise.
- Review financial results and identify trends, variances, and operational improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
- Assist with acquisition-related accounting matters and review of third-party valuation analyses.
- Support preparation of financial materials for leadership and executive reporting.
- CPA required
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Background in large, complex, or high-growth environments
- Big 4 or public company experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of close cycles, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with leadership
- Strong analytical skills and process improvement mindset
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and guide teams
- Detail-oriented with strong review and organizational skills
- Comfortable operating both strategically and at a tactical level
- Adaptable and effective in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
