Overview

MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is currently looking for an Architectural Project Manager - Retail to join our Client Programs Market team in Irvine, CA. You will work in our Client Programs (CP) Market, focusing on project and client leadership through all phases of design and delivery on global and national building programs.

Our Architectural Project Manager will lead project teams through all phases of project execution, including contract management, design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration. You will manage project schedules and financial performance, build strong client relationships, and serve as the main point of contact for all project-related communication while upholding MG2’s standard for design excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams through all project phases, ensuring deliverables align with the contract, are on schedule and within budget, and meet MG2 standards for quality.
  • Ensure required contracts are in place prior to beginning execution of contract deliverables.
  • Create and maintain milestone-based project schedules and staffing workplans.
  • Create and maintain detailed Project Charters including a comprehensive QA/QC plan for all project work.
  • Assist with the development of project proposals and RFP responses as requested.
  • Continuously monitor project financial status and conduct intermediate financial reviews with Team Leads or Principal-in-Charge (PIC).
  • Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
  • Produce weekly project updates documenting contract deliverables, financial status, contracts, and permitting reports; issue weekly updates to all project stakeholders.
  • Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings.
  • Participate in Quality Control procedures including review of all externally distributed project deliverables.
  • Oversee Construction Administration activities, including weekly reviews of RFI and Submittal logs and attendance at OAC meetings; review site visit reports and punch lists prior to issuance.
  • Host internal and external project debrief meetings following construction completion to identify opportunities for service improvements.
  • Initiate project-close out procedures following substantial completion in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Manage internal and external resources to ensure consistent quality and project profitability.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on the performance of team members; conduct monthly 1:1 check-ins (People Managers Only) and mid-year/year-end performance reviews (People Managers Only).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
  • License/certification as a professional is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone-based project delivery.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experience using collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions.

Compensation: $80,000 to $110,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
