The role of the Project Manager III is a blend of strategy, leadership, and execution to guide product development projects from concept through commercial launch. The position will work across functions to align vision, scope, and strategic business objectives, while translating ambiguity into clear, data-driven plans with measurable milestones. The role entails facilitating critical trade-off decisions, proactively surfacing and mitigating risks, preparing leaders for high-impact phase gate decisions, and actively managing the project budget through forecasting, tracking actuals, and course-correcting as needed.

The Project Manager III role fosters collaboration and supports continuous improvement to tools and processes to achieve greater outcomes.

How You’ll Make An Impact:
  • Lead a cross-functional team to develop new products from initiation through commercial launch, with the goal of delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed-upon schedule, resources, budget, and scope. Ensure alignment across product value proposition, project scope, and strategic business objectives.
  • Lead development and execution of projects by working cross-functionally to create and execute project plans, managing project resource in partnership with functional leaders, and managing project risks in collaboration with core teams.
  • Lead core team and project decision making by leading team assessments of options and trade-offs (such as balancing customer value, budget, resources, and business case), leading team preparations for Phase Gate and other Go/No-Go decisions by executive leadership, and actively managing project stakeholder needs, communications, and engagement.
  • Oversee adherence to a structured design and development process, ensuring compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Collaborate with and coach core team members and other project managers in the use of project management tools, effective functional stakeholder management, and functional risk management.
What You Bring:
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, business, or related field. Advanced degree and/or certification in a relevant area is preferred (e.g. MBA, PhD, MS, PMP)
  • Work Experience:

8+ years experience in medical device or in-vitro diagnostic product-development project management. Experience leading complex assay and/or quality control development projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to create, track and adjust project budgets, including forecasting, tracking actuals, identifying funding required to compress the schedule and risks of overspend.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with executive communication
  • Excellent leadership skills. Adept at leading with and without direct authority, orienting team members, leaders, and stakeholders around shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability as a strategic decision-maker. Must have strong business acumen, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to link business and strategic objectives to detailed project plans.
