The role involves operating and maintaining assigned equipment, executing standard work, training operators, troubleshooting machine issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. All activities are performed in accordance with department SOPs and quality standards.
Responsibilities – Essential Duties- Operate all assigned equipment, following and overseeing the standard work according to department SOPs.
- Work with manufacturing leaders to establish, implement, maintain, and enhance standard work.
- Conduct training on standard work and troubleshooting techniques, evaluating training effectiveness.
- Recommend changes to operating procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs including LPMS, 5S, KATA, and Kaizen events.
- Troubleshoot machine/line stoppage, perform repairs, and facilitate escalation for additional technical support.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance during machine downtime, partnering with operations, mechanics, and engineers as needed.
- Monitor production quality and act according to standard work/SOP.
- Complete documentation including batch records, log books, PM and DM following good documentation practices.
- Higher level operating technicians will perform all functions listed above on multiple pieces of equipment as determined by department management.
- Align peripheral equipment and complete necessary documentation.
- Perform set‑up and start‑up for code changes according to equipment manuals and product specifications.
- Operate and maintain machinery:
Start and stop, clean, and restart after electrical failure or interruptions. - Feed materials to the machine, inspect, pack, and document according to plant procedures.
- Monitor machine performance within validated parameters, adhering to process validation, procedures, specifications, and safety & environmental regulations.
- Comply with operational standards for efficiency, production, scrap, downtime, and cycle time.
- Manage waste:
Remove, verify, and identify scrap from stations. - Package products in double plastic bags, properly identifying and hermetically sealing.
- Prepare production information boards, maintain written records or graphs to monitor productivity and establish trends.
- Sanitize worktables, conveyors, and inspection tables.
- Identify, report, and address deviations in process parameters or incidents affecting product quality.
- Perform dimensional, functional, and special tests according to specifications and SOPs.
- Inspect products visually and instrumentally to detect defects according to specifications.
- Maintain records of critical machine parameters and complete required documentation.
- Manually or electronically document required information, including parameters, batches, and production data.
- Conduct routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, and lubricating machinery.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in machinery.
- Maintain and secure provided tools.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure all machinery and systems comply with industry standards.
