Job DescriptionLevel Two machinist:
Builds upon level one, with minimal assistance, level two machinists operate 2‑5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells as well as standalone machines. They must set up fixtures and cutting tools, load and adjust CNC programs and offsets, and perform basic quality inspection using tools such as height gauges and air gauges. They read basic prints and apply common CNC G and M codes.

Position SummaryLevel Two:
Operates 2‑5 axis CNC/automated machine cells and works in one of the three areas: CNC, Turning, or Screw Machine. Typically requires 2‑4 years of experience. May work in gateway or secondary operations, not necessarily CNC.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform basic setup operations – fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs.
- Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets.
- Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity with drawings and advanced inspection tools.
- Meet production demands and run production on multiple machines concurrently (primary & secondary).
- Identify and load fixtures with minimal assistance.
- Use G and M codes for setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs.
- Apply shop math (tool geometry, positive/negative numbers, basic geometry).
- Interpret basic prints in English and apply dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
- Evidence of success in level one machining duties for at least one year prior to promotion or hire.
- 2‑4 years of machining experience.
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

The job requires standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing; walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and frequently lifting up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to airborne particles and vibration. Moderate noise level.
Schedule Options- 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:15 pm – 10:45 pm.
