Position Summary

The Director, Continuous Improvement is responsible for leading and sustaining World Class Continuous Improvement strategies across corporate operations. This role serves as the enterprise change agent and champion for Operational Excellence, driving the development, implementation, and standardization of continuous improvement initiatives, including OPEX and Value Engineering within R&D. The Director establishes a common, enterprise-wide approach to improvement, ensures consistent use of tools and methodologies, and promotes the sharing of best practices across sites and functions.

By defining metrics, setting goals, and prioritizing high-impact initiatives, the Director enables measurable performance improvements aligned with business objectives. This position also oversees training, develops internal capability standards, and evaluates emerging best practices to strengthen organizational effectiveness, while partnering closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and plan World Class Continuous Improvement activities across Corporate Operations
  • Support sites in implementation of OPEX
  • Implement, train and support the implementation of Value Engineering in R&D
  • Ensure consistency in use of tools and techniques by local offices and share expertise between sites; design a common approach to implementation of initiatives
  • Establish, implement and track metrics and goals for World Class Manufacturing
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the organization; prioritize projects based on functional area needs and business impact
  • Oversee training, including coordination and scheduling of workshops and training sessions
  • Establish qualifications and requirements for internal employees
  • Research current best practices in manufacturing support functions and evaluate their feasibility/implementation for BBMUS
  • Act as main change agent and champion for Corporate function areas

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years related experience, minimum 5 years management experience required
  • Applicable industry/professional certification required
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred
  • Occasional business travel required; ability to work non‑standard schedule as needed
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements

Regular duties include sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking occasionally, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 20 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $195,000 - $230,000

Schedule:

Onsite, standard business hours Monday‑Friday; after‑hours support may be needed.

Benefits include healthcare, a 401(k) plan, and tuition reimbursement.
