Position: Production Assembler 2 (ECS) - Defense Systems Division

Position Overview

Production Assembler 2 (Environment Control Systems) – Non‑exempt, M25 grade, Manufacturing Department, located in Irvine, California. This role involves medium mechanical assembly work on a production basis, with variable job types, working under general supervision and responsible for ensuring quality production output.

Responsibilities

Good understanding of products and processes. Able to troubleshoot assembly issues with support from supervision and to work on a variety of tasks.

  • Assemble components using basic hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and drivers.
  • During assembly process, use a multimeter, isolation testers, and electrical fixtures for electrical component acceptance.
  • Apply mechanical skills during assembly, utilizing blueprints and technical instructions.
  • Understand different types of fluids (hydraulic, coolant/refrigerant, diesel).
  • Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot mechanical failures with supervision.
  • Disassemble and rework parts to print per instructions as needed.
  • Prepare to work on a wide variety of tasks depending on customer demands.
  • Maintain an organized, FOD‑free clean environment.
  • Wear safety glasses and safety shoes during working hours.
  • Perform facility maintenance as requested.
Qualifications

Candidates must be ‘U.S. Persons’ (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident).

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 to 6 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills: spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use hand tools and be mechanically inclined.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally to move/lift objects.
  • Work environment noise level is usually moderate.
  • Work area typically not air‑conditioned.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle changing conditions; shop environment contains hazardous materials, dust, moving equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment, and metal chips from cutting, milling, drilling, and turning operations.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Competitive Compensation

Pay Range: $18.90 to $31.50 per hour. Participation in an Annual Incentive Program.
