Electromechanical Assembler 3
Shift: 5:30 AM – 2 PM
Pay rate range: $21.20–$27/hr (Depending on Experience). HR/Hiring manager will determine pay rate after interview.
Position SummaryWorks under general supervision and is responsible for work output. On a production basis, performs electronic and electromechanical assembly and subassembly work. Semi‑repetitive to repetitive‑type work. May make simple decisions but must generally follow well established precedents.
ResponsibilitiesAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Good understanding of ESD controls, resistance welding, working under microscopes, soldering, epoxy mixing, bonding, assembly and packaging techniques, as well as handling of classified assemblies.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Proficient microelectronic assembly skills
- Proficient cable harness and PCB assembly
- Proficient mechanical assembly of small parts and good understanding of torque requirements
- Interprets blueprints, job travelers, rework instructions, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives
- Proficient high voltage potting and high voltage testing skills
- Certified as IDC Specialist and J-STD-001
- Maintain productivity, quality and overall performance of assembly operations by completing weekly assignments as scheduled
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks
- Immediately report to supervisor any infractions of safety rules or injury
- Report all failures to supervisor
- Report all FOD instances to supervisor
- Update supervisor on problems, parts shortages, and discrepancies affecting production schedule
- Actively leads and participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions for improvement
- Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule
- May perform other related responsibilities
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) or more years of related electronics assembly experience
- J-STD-001 Certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Strong teamwork, constructive and positive interpersonal communication, and respect for diversity
- Ability to work independently and cooperate with other departments such as Quality, Production Control and Engineering
- Basic computer skills for logging into work orders, accessing time cards, and logging work orders for special process
- Must be able to operate winding/braiding machinery, torque wrenches, digital multimeter, up to 12kV hipot, solder irons, cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, common hand tools, and microscope
The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, pound or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
