A positive attitude, the ability to work in an environment with limited supervision, and a willingness to contribute to a continuous improvement environment while meeting the following responsibilities and requirements are critical. The Extrusion Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery used in the production of medical tubes. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment, monitoring production processes, and maintaining product quality to meet established specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor extrusion machines to produce medical tubes, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot extrusion equipment to optimize performance and product quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials and finished products to verify compliance with specifications.
- Maintain accurate production records, including material usage, equipment performance, and any quality control issues.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to identify and resolve production challenges and improve processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on extrusion equipment and assist with repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations throughout the production process.
- Assist in training new team members on extrusion processes and safety practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in extrusion processes, particularly in the medical device or manufacturing industry, is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and regulatory requirements relevant to medical device manufacturing.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with production management software.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, requiring adherence to safety protocols. May involve standing for extended periods and lifting materials as needed.
