Stray Systemes, LLC is a rapidly growing, clean energy innovation company in Orange County. We are seeking candidates with hands‑on factory technician experience, to join our startup production team. This is an exciting opportunity to join from the ground up!

Overview

This is a contract role, with an opportunity to earn internal advancement as our company and your skills grow. You will be on the floor everyday building, testing, and improving the products that ship to our valued customers.

This job opportunity is for someone who shows up on time, takes pride in themselves, in their work, and is excited to roll up their sleeves. This description does not cover everything you will do, but it a start for a good understanding from day one. We want to meet with dedicated, high‑spirited, team players who spot problems, suggest fixes, and have a passion for innovation in the energy sector and a sincere desire to grow with us.

Responsibilities
  • Product Assembly:
    Hand and machine assembly of products, proprietary components, and finished goods on a fast‑paced line
  • Quality Assurance:
    Perform in‑process and final QA inspections using specialized tools, and visual standards. Document defects, help improve upon and prevent root causes
  • Production Support:
    Set up workstations, run SMT/reflow/through‑hole equipment, hit and support daily output targets
  • Inventory Management:
    Kit parts, cycle count, transact material in a proprietary system, and flag shortages before they stop the line and hinder progress.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify waste, safety risks, or yield issues. Recommend, suggest, and help implement process improvements, cost reductions, and savings. We seek doers and thinkers.
  • Cross‑training:
    Flex/transition between assembly, test, rework, and shipping as needed. “Not my job” mentality, will not work with our team‑oriented philosophy.
Qualifications
  • Confidence in your ability to learn and grow.
  • Good energy, positive mentality
  • 3–5 years hands‑on experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or production
  • Proven skills in soldering, IPC‑A‑610 awareness, ESD handling, and reading assembly drawings/work instructions
  • Experience with QA processes, first article inspection, and basic test equipment experience
  • Comfortable using and learning new inventory/ERP systems for material movement and data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing it right the first time, with excellent time management skills
  • Reliable and punctual – production starts upon arrival
  • “Roll up your sleeves” mindset – you will be moving, building, and solving problems
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – you see improvement opportunities and speak up with well thought out recommendations
  • Able to lift 35+ lbs, stand for 8 hours, and work in a team‑based environment
Nice to Have
  • This is a production floor role. You can expect potential for a loud, active environment with standard PPE including ESD smocks and safety glasses. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and have authorization to work in the USA.

  • Hourly Rate: $22–$30/hr, based on professional experience with IPC certs, soldering skills, QC and QA background
  • Occasional overtime eligible at 1.5x after 8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week in accordance with CA law
