Position Summary

Clean, mask, paint, shrink fit, stress relieve, identify parts and maintain paint boot (e filters as needed, keep accurate records). Keep up-to-date log books on paint, oven, and other areas as required. Maintain adequate paint supplies to support production needs. Monitor and keep records on cure dates.

Essential Job Functions
  • Mask and paint as required per blueprint, sketches and verbal orders.
  • Shrink fit using oven as required per blueprint, sketches and verbal orders.
  • Furnace cure as required per blueprint or as required per military specifications.
  • Meet aesthetic requirements defined by customer.

    Skills and Qualifications
    • Read and interpret complex blueprint notes and insignia related to paint, correctly logging time and temperature on furnace charts. Must have extensive experience with various aircraft quality paints. Full understanding of paint, thinner and catalyst mix ratios, slack time and cure times.
    • Punctual.

    • Able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Customer service driven. Willing to work overtime when needed.
    • Able to manage multiple tasks.

    Education, Experience, Certificates/Licenses
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 2‑3 years of practical experience.
    Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required
    • Occasionally required to lift up to 30 lbs.
    • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
    • Safety glasses, shop coat/apron, proper shoes.
    • Occasional exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.

    Employee must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Typical Materials, Tools and Equipment Used
    • Materials worked on:
      All ferrous and non‑ferrous metals and alloys, fibers and plastics.
    • Materials used:
      Paint, thinner, masking tape, paint spray equipment, furnace charts, identification equipment and log books.
    • Tools used:
      Machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments and variety of gauges.
    • Equipment used:
      Compressed air, paint sprayers, tape, knives, solvents, oven and other related accessories.

    Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

    Competitive Compensation:
    Pay Range: $24/hr to $34.7/hr participation in Annual Incentive Program.
