Production Assembler 2

Position Summary:

The Production Assembler 2 – Electromechanical is responsible for performing intermediate mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies and top assemblies in accordance with work instructions, job traveler, blueprints and quality standards. This role utilizes hand and power tools to assemble parts, simple testing, inspect work for accuracy, and maintain a safe and organized FOD free work environment. Will work closely with team members and leadership to meet production goals while ensuring product quality and adherence to company procedures.

Responsibilities:

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Good understanding of ESD controls, resistance welding, working under microscopes, soldering, epoxy mixing, bonding, assembly and packaging techniques, as well as handling of classified assemblies.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working under the microscope for long periods of time.

  • Intermediate cable harness and PCB assembly techniques.
  • Intermediate mechanical assembly of small parts and good understanding of torque requirements and calibration.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, job travelers and adhere to work instructions.
  • High voltage potting and high voltage testing skills.

  • Foreign object damage knowledge (FOD)

  • Proficient at identifying and troubleshooting faulty components.
  • Maintains a consistent standard of work and performance to comply with Quality Assurance regulations.

  • Ensure your calibrated equipment is current
  • Ensure chemicals are not expired and within date.
  • Continues improvement- participate in Kaizen events, TIBS
  • May be assigned to assist other departments.

  • May perform other related responsibilities.

Job Specifications

Education and Years of

Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 2 to 6 years of related electronics assembly experience.

  • J-STD-001 Certification preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • As a member of the organization, the employee is expected to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.
