Operator I (Medical Device Assembly)

Location:

Irvine, CA, 92614

Duration: 06-month extendable contract

Shift details: 3p – 11:30p

Position Overview

The Operator I position is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. Under close supervision, employees perform assembly, repair, and testing operations on medical devices such as catheters, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual assembly, repair, and testing of medical devices.
  • Follow standardized procedures and work instructions to maintain quality and compliance standards.
  • Accurately complete written and electronic documentation to ensure product traceability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production issues and solutions.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Handle and assemble small components under a microscope.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as grabbing, pinching, pulling, and twisting.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailed assembly work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience assembling medical devices or small components.
  • Experience working under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Hand soldering experience.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate written and electronic records.

Interview & Tour Dress Code Requirements

As this is a cleanroom manufacturing environment, all candidates must follow the dress code below during the interview tour and while working onsite:

Clothing Requirements

  • Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and free of loose threads, glitter, sequins, tassels, fringes, or similar materials.
  • Sweaters, fleece garments, loose-knit clothing, and other fiber-shedding materials are not permitted.
  • Clothing must fit completely under the provided lab coat or gown.
  • Sleeves and collars should not extend beyond the gown.
  • Torso, upper arms, and legs must be fully covered.
  • No sleeveless tops, crop tops, shorts, or clothing with exposed skin.
  • Loose-fitting clothing is not permitted around machinery.

Footwear Requirements

  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required.
  • Sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe shoes, and open-heel shoes are not allowed.
  • Heel height must not exceed 2 inches.
  • Socks or stockings must be worn at all times.

Personal Appearance Requirements

  • No nail polish, acrylic nails, artificial nails, or similar coatings.
  • No makeup is permitted in production areas.
  • No jewelry or body piercings that could compromise gloves or gowning materials.
  • Avoid scented personal care products, except deodorant.
  • Any cuts or wounds must be fully covered with a bandage.
  • Clothing or accessories displaying offensive content are prohibited.
