What you will do

Our products are used in operating rooms throughout the world, consisting of surgical power tools, batteries, and procedure‑specific accessories. As a Senior Engineer, Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving value streams. You will design lean systems, influence cross‑functional teams, and execute improvement initiatives to continuously drive top performance from our production system.
This is an onsite position at Stryker PV in Irvine, CA.
- Lead value stream mapping workshops and kaizen events
- Oversee future state implementation
- Monitor & improve lean metrics (lead time, changeover time, inventory levels, etc.)
- Evaluate / design and implement process and process flow improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, while maintaining or improving product quality
- Partner with Finance associates to quantify CI cost reductions
- Personally execute improvements
- Coach others in Lean concepts
- Work closely and collaboratively with members of other teams in a fast‑paced environment
- Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements
- Follow the company’s standards for process development, quality and safety
- Support New Product Introduction and/or Legacy product Ramp‑Up plans
- Contribute to infrastructure configuration to ensure optimal efficiencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required
- 2+ years of relevant work experience required
- Experience working in Medical Device or a highly regulated industry required
Certification in Lean manufacturing – preferred - Ability to identify waste, formulate action plans and drive improvement – preferred
- Shingijutsumethodology experience or similar – highly preferred
