We are bringing our mission to life across Orange County. Come join us! We are currently hiring a Development Director for our Orange County Inland Empire Coachella Valley (OIC) division. The Development Director will generate revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign, including our signature Orange County Heart & Stroke Walk. The hybrid position is based in Orange County and is field, at home, or in our Irvine office for regular meetings.

It is a fast‑paced sales‑type environment focused on driving revenue to support our mission. A base salary with potential incentive up to 25% of base pay is offered, based on revenue targets. The Association provides resources to support work‑life harmonization through training, coaching, and flexibility.

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations; achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with partners and donors.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research aligned with campaign goals and the Association's mission.
• Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and lead executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day‑of‑the‑event volunteers.
• Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk and motivate team members to fundraise.
• Lead new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society in partnership with other fundraising staff; plan and implement regular engagement events for members.
• Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Work with the Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.

• 3+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related field.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time and make some overnight trips.
• Ability to lift or move large objects with appropriate assistance.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Experience managing and cultivating high‑level leaders at the C‑Suite level.
• Knowledge of corporate and community networks.

Expected pay range is $70,304 to $82,500 annually, commensurate with experience. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay beyond the posted range. The total rewards package includes:
