Laundry Attendant

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, and iron resident laundry, community linens, and textiles using provided appliances.
• Fold and/or hang laundry appropriately.
• Distribute laundered articles and linens.
• Replace and hang draperies.
• Change beds.
• Mop laundry room floor and wash walls regularly.
• Wash windows around the community as requested.
• Ensure resident’s laundry is kept separated and not mixed with other residents.
• Maintain the laundry area in a safe, clean, and good working condition.
• Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies.
• Stock the laundry and cleaning cart with supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
• Able to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, using units of United States currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Able to safely perform duties using related commercial laundry equipment and materials such as washers, dryers, irons, etc.

First day and onboarding. Congratulations – we’re excited to have you join our team! Onboarding varies by position, but on your first day at Atria you’ll typically meet coworkers, take a workplace tour and begin any required training.
