Position:
Nurse Practitioner II, Neurology Department, University of California, Irvine
As a Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology, you will provide comprehensive care in ambulatory and inpatient settings, coordinating multidisciplinary care, performing medical examinations, and communicating with patients and referring physicians. You will work within the Cerebrovascular and Neuro-Hospitalist Division under the supervision of attending faculty and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
This Position May PerformFunctions will include management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures appropriate to your scope of practice. You must maintain familiarity with state statutes related to licensing.
Requirements- Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree program as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
- NP National Board Certification.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Board Certified.
- At least 1–2 years of neurology experience as an NP.
- Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
- Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal reporting.
- Customer service skills appropriate to the nursing profession.
- Diplomacy and flexibility in interactions with physicians, nurses, and other health personnel.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships across the program and UCI Health System.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a fast‑paced outpatient setting working with elderly patients and families.
