The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for providing and coordinating nursing care to assigned clients, patients, and residents consistent with current Standards of Professional Practice with the Ontario College of Nurses, carrying out all work assignments safely, and being knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Current Certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse;
• Current CPR;
• Demonstration of strong nursing practice, skill and judgement;
• Demonstrated critical thinking, leadership and mentoring skills;
• Exhibits the ability and competence to work with all computer systems and applications;
• Exercises behaviours consistent with Riverside Health Care’s Code of Conduct;
• Willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights and weekends;
• Demonstrates Riverside Health Care’s Core Values – Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Growth;
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill with the ability to function effectively independently, within a team, with front line personnel, and management;
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills, including multitasking and prioritizing workload;
• Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record;
• Proven ability to perform the essential duties of the position on a regular basis.

Riverside Health Care is prepared to offer a tuition‑based signing bonus of up to $4,000.00 for Registered Practical Nurses.

• Must have graduated within the past two (2) years from a recognized RPN program;
• Must agree to a prorated return of service over three (3) years.
