About This Role

The Specialty Unit Staff RN in Labor & Delivery provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are flexible and committed to delivering quality patient care.

• Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
• Serve as a leader of the health care team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and revise care plans as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and optimal pain control.
• Document nursing processes and interventions accurately.
• Discuss patient findings and progress with the healthcare team.
• Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

• Registered Nurse License (California)

• 1-year recent experience in Labor & Delivery or completion of a KP L&D course within the last 12 months.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate required at hire or within 12 months
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
