You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory work, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Clean, sterilize and wrap surgical packs.
• Maintain overall cleanliness in patient rooms and treatment.
• Assisting in kennel duties (taking patients outside for potty breaks, dishes, laundry).
• Handle lab samples, run in-house lab work.
• Position for and take radiographs.
• Have basic knowledge of vaccines and medications.

• Empathetic and compassionate.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• A team player.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Ability to appropriately handle, lift, and restrain animals (dogs, cats, pocket pets, etc.) and stand for long periods of time.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $18-23/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
