Quality Control Lead

Overview

Vivid Technology is working on behalf of a global Satellite Communications leader seeking to hire a Quality Control Lead for its manufacturing site.

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control expert to oversee Incoming Quality Inspection and Final Quality Control (Factory Acceptance Testing - FAT) within a manufacturing environment. This role directly supervises a team of Quality Control Inspectors and Incoming Quality Inspectors, ensuring all incoming materials and finished products meet internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements prior to production use or shipment.

The Quality Control Lead will collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics teams and will play a key role in driving accountability, improving inspection processes, and maintaining a strong quality culture.

• Supervise and develop Quality Control and Incoming Inspectors
• Plan and assign daily inspection workloads (incoming, in-process, and FAT)
• Oversee inspection of mechanical parts, electronic, RF components, and PCB assemblies
• Supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of finished products
• Review inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions
• Coordinate quality issues with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing
• Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, labeling, packaging, and documentation requirements
• Support continuous improvement and host customer or third-party inspections as needed

• 3–5+ years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing or assembly
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and PCB inspection methods
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, BOMs, and test procedures
• Proficiency with inspection tools and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• FAT experience in aerospace, telecom, or defense
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC-A-610, or AS9102
