Skills Required

Primary (Must-Have):

  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace inspection experience or equivalent experience performing complex inspection activities
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 quality standards
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection (FAI) and final inspection activities
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection setups
  • Strong understanding of customer, industry, and military specifications
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics including trigonometry
  • Ability to identify non-conformances and participate in root cause investigations
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Secondary (Good to Have):

  • Experience with Net-Inspect and Solumina MES systems
  • Knowledge of electro-hydraulic servo systems
  • Experience supporting customer or government source inspections
  • Experience with special process witness and sign-off requirements
  • Previous Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) certification
Position Overview

The Senior Inspector is responsible for performing detailed dimensional and visual inspections on complex machined components, castings, forgings, and assemblies. This position supports first article and final inspection activities while maintaining Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) certification requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong aerospace quality knowledge, precision measurement expertise, and the ability to interpret complex engineering specifications.

  • Perform semi-complex to complex inspections of machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies using a variety of precision measuring instruments
  • Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines to maintain control of machining processes
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspections
  • Maintain accurate records of accepted and rejected parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine product acceptance or rejection
  • Recommend corrective actions and provide guidance to management regarding quality concerns
  • Identify non-conformances and participate in root cause investigations
  • Prepare required quality documentation and reports
  • Achieve and maintain Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) status for applicable customers
  • Perform delegated inspection and product release activities on behalf of customers
  • Support special process witness requirements and customer/government source inspections
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with standards
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace inspection experience
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), AS9100, and AS9102 requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Net-Inspect and Solumina MES systems
  • Knowledge of electro-hydraulic servo systems
  • Experience supporting customer and government inspections
  • Familiarity with military and aerospace industry specifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Precision inspection and measurement activities
  • Frequent interaction with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • High attention to detail and regulatory compliance required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
