About CamelliaManufacturing Quality Manager
Wiring Harness & Cable Assembly ManufacturingLocation: Irvine, California
Division: Wiring Harness & Cable Assembly
About CamelliaCamellia is building one of Southern California's premier manufacturing operations for mission-critical wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and engineered electromechanical products. Our customers require exceptional workmanship, traceability, reliability, and responsiveness. As our Irvine operation grows, we are seeking an experienced manufacturing quality leader with direct wiring harness, cable assembly, or closely related electromechanical manufacturing experience.
Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Quality Manager will build, standardize, and lead the production quality organization for Camellia's Irvine wiring harness and cable assembly facility. This is not a documentation-only or compliance-only role. The successful candidate must understand the day-to-day quality controls required in a high-mix, build-to-print manufacturing environment and be capable of establishing practical systems from the ground up.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The manager will develop inspection methods, forms, control plans, quality checkpoints, operator certification requirements, laboratory practices, and escalation processes while coaching inspectors and production personnel on the manufacturing floor. The role also provides leadership for customer quality, supplier quality, PPAP, NPI quality planning, and continued improvement of the Quality Management System.
Required Industry BackgroundCandidates should have direct manufacturing quality experience in wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical/electromechanical assemblies, or a closely related environment involving manual assembly, crimping, termination, continuity testing, workmanship standards, and product traceability.
- Direct wiring harness or cable assembly quality experience is strongly preferred.
- Candidates from electronics manufacturing services (EMS), aerospace/defense electronics, medical-device assembly, automotive Tier 1, or industrial controls will be considered when their experience includes hands-on electromechanical production quality leadership.
- Software QA, regulatory-only, document-control-only, laboratory-only, or supplier-quality-only backgrounds do not meet the primary requirements of this position.
At Camellia, quality is built into the process, not inspected into the product. The Manufacturing Quality Manager will work directly with Engineering and Operations to prevent defects, strengthen processes, develop people, and establish a culture in which every employee takes ownership of quality.

- Create and maintain Control Plans, inspection plans, workmanship criteria, visual standards, and production quality documentation.
- Establish quality checkpoints for cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, sealing, routing, labeling, continuity testing, functional testing, and final assembly.
- Define and maintain crimp-quality requirements, including visual inspection, crimp-height measurement, pull-force testing, and applicator/process verification.
- Develop operator and inspector training, certification, and recertification requirements for critical processes.

3. Customer & Supplier Quality
- Own customer quality responses, including SCARs, CAPA, 8D, containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.
- Communicate directly with customers on quality concerns, investigation status, corrective actions, and prevention plans.
- Develop supplier quality requirements, incoming controls, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering to qualify new suppliers, materials, components, and outsourced processes.
4. NPI & Advanced Quality Planning
