Vice President of Business Development - Acquisitions
We are seeking a results oriented Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions to develop and maintain relationships to source commercial real estate acquisition opportunities across the U.S. and work closely with senior team members throughout the investment process. This position requires exposure and working knowledge of debt and commercial loan workouts or demonstrated success in business development.
The position will be remote in the southeastern United States with a preferred location of Miami, Florida.
The position reports to the Head of Real Estate.
- Develop and maintain direct relationships with asset managers and commercial real estate investment sales brokers responsible for resolution of non-performing commercial real estate loans and REO within banks, CMBS Special Servicers and debt funds to source acquisition opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to acquire non-performing loans, mezz debt and REO targeting retail, multifamily and office properties.
- Manage acquisition process from LOI and Purchase and Sale Agreements.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, underwriting and asset management through the due diligence and closing process.
- Recommend acquisition strategies based on market dynamics and company goals.
- Assist with analysis and presentations for potential acquisition targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in business development, real estate acquisitions, lending, asset management or related roles. Working knowledge of CMBS and loan work outs is preferred.
- Proven and demonstrated success in relationship management, business development relating to commercial real estate acquisitions.
- Established relationships with investment sales brokers.
- Proficiency in Excel and understanding of Argus, Co-star, Trepp and related applications.
- Knowledge of real estate acquisition process including underwriting and property due diligence.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional relationship building, negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability to take initiative and be successful working independently
- Understanding of real estate financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and market dynamics
- Ability to organize and prioritize high value contacts in multiple organizations
