Your Role on the Team

The Research Development and Industry Relations Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, administration, and long‑term sustainability of interdisciplinary research, industry‑facing, and training initiatives. The position works with institute leadership to create and advance complex research programs and industry partnerships, develop funding and revenue strategies, oversee programmatic operations, and facilitate collaboration across research, academic, and external stakeholder groups. The role serves as a key driver in advancing institutional priorities through research and program development, innovation and tech transfer, strategic partnerships with researchers, industry and other sponsors.

Please Note:

This is a hybrid position (3 days minimum onsite).

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Research and/or industry background and experience in engineering, sciences or related research area.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Doctorate in related area and/or equivalent experience training.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Research Development.

Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of administrative, budgetary, and financial principles and practices.
  • Highly skilled fundraising experience.
  • 5 Years of Industry Partnerships.
  • 5 Years of Workforce Development Programs.
