Senior Scientist, Research Scientist III

Primary Job Description

Leads projects, designs new and innovative diagnostics, provides technical review, direction, and feedback to others, and conducts advanced research.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine to complex experimental procedures within the overall scope of a research project and/or diagnostic test development project.
  • Display strong technical knowledge and expertise in molecular biology methods such as DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, qRT-PCR, and sequencing.
  • Experience with NGS and basic bioinformatics tools for NGS analysis is highly preferred.
  • Design and troubleshoot experiments, provide technical expertise and problem‑solving.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Summarize data, interpret results, draw conclusions, and recommend options for future experiments.
  • Present scientific data in internal and external meetings and prepare scientific reports and posters.
  • Supervise or coach lower‑level scientists and provide consultation on technical issues.
  • Conduct meetings with external collaborators and clients.
  • Multitask and maintain several projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Training

  • Ph.D. in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or genetics.
  • 3‑5 years of relevant research experience or industrial experience.
  • Knowledge and expertise in bioinformatics analysis.
Research Scientist I

Primary Job Description

Independently conducts bench scientific experimentation to develop, verify, and validate new diagnostic products using NGS, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, and Flow cytometry technology for implementation in CAP/CLIA laboratories; participates in scientific collaboration with sponsors for new technology/product development.
