Salary range: $76,700–$201,900. Total Negotiated Salary calculation depends on specialty. The posted UC Salary Scale sets the minimum pay based on rank and/or step at appointment.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced molecular analyses of human biospecimens, including DNA methylation and other epigenetic datasets.
- Conduct bioinformatic and statistical analyses to identify molecular signatures associated with delirium and related neuropsychiatric conditions.
- Lead planning, standardization, and quality management of handling and processing human biospecimens (including blood and peripheral tissues), ensuring sample integrity and data quality for genome‑wide assays.
- Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory protocols for biospecimen processing and molecular data management.
- Contribute to multimodal analyses and integration of clinical data with molecular datasets (DNA methylation, RNA‑seq, proteomics) and neuroimaging data (MRI).
- Collaborate with research team members to support data interpretation, figure generation, and preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant reports.
- Assist in developing and maintaining reproducible analytical workflows (preprocessing, QC, statistical analysis, pipeline implementation) for large‑scale, multi‑platform omics, imaging, and clinical datasets.
- Mentor trainees and junior researchers in molecular laboratory techniques, bioinformatics, and computational data analysis.
- Support collaborative research projects and participate in interdisciplinary research meetings and team‑based initiatives.
- M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent in molecular biology, computational biology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, biomedical science, or a related field.
