Job Description
The successful R&D Laboratory Operations Technician IV will support Allergan Aesthetics Biological Research by coordinating and optimizing laboratory operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuity across the research environment. The role engages in multi‑disciplinary interaction with EH&S, Managed Lab Services, Facilities Maintenance, and R&D Engineering with emphasis on planning, coordinating and executing logistical lab operations.
- Schedule equipment technician visits and coordinate access to restricted lab spaces.
- Organize research lab equipment through its entire lifecycle and complete documentation, including installation, induction, movement, modification, inactivity, retirement, decontamination, repair, and calibration schedules.
- Coordinate with the Laboratory Operations team to maintain the health of lab freezers, including occasional off‑hour emergency response.
- Facilitate safety inspections and maintain general lab orderliness.
- Track and order compressed gases and collaborate with scientists to resolve laboratory operational issues.
- Support overall building safety and manage delivery dispersal.
This position is based onsite in our Irvine, CA office (Mon‑Fri).
Qualifications Education and Experience- College degree in Life Science or Chemistry (Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience will also be considered).
- Two or more years of previous work experience within a laboratory preferred (college lab experience may be considered).
- High proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills with excellent attention to detail, plus good written and verbal skills.
- Self‑starter, proactive, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable handling chemicals and research materials.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and crouch and stand for long periods.
USD 23.1 - USD 41.6 hourly.
