Job Title:
Lab Tech III /Cell Culture & Molecular Biology Duration: 12 Months Contract (Possible Extension Based on Performance and Business Needs)
Location:
Irvine, CA 92612 Schedule Monday – Friday 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week Weekend work (Saturday or Sunday) may be required 0–3 times per month depending on study requirements (approximately 4 hours to change cell culture media). Interview Process: MS Teams interview. Pay Range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour Top Required Skills Cell culture experience. RNA isolation and gene expression analysis. Protein expression analysis.
MS Office proficiency. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Position Summary Laboratory Tech III will contribute to product development and skin biology research within the Biological Research laboratory. The role involves conducting testing on new components and formulations and performing cellular and molecular biology assessments. The individual must be able to follow laboratory procedures with attention to detail and execute experiments involving cell culture, gene expression analysis, protein analysis, and related laboratory techniques under general supervision while working effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform 2D cell culture, 3D skin model culture, and ex vivo sample handling. Isolate mRNA and proteins from cell culture samples and skin tissues. Conduct molecular and cell biology techniques including: qPCR Western Blot ELISA Maintain accurate and timely laboratory documentation. Establish experimental protocols and validate new assays under supervision. Communicate effectively to organize assigned laboratory work. Utilize MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.
Required Skills Cell culture experience. RNA isolation and gene expression analysis. Protein expression analysis.
Experience with cellular and molecular biology techniques. Knowledge of qPCR, Western Blot, and ELISA. Strong computer proficiency with MS Office. Ability to follow oral and complex written instructions. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills
Experience with 3D/organoid cell culture models.
Experience with skin-derived cells (keratinocytes, fibroblasts, melanocytes). Histology techniques (IF, IHC). Knowledge of skin biology, developmental biology, stem cells, and extracellular matrix. Experience writing SOPs. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an academic or pharmaceutical laboratory. PhD candidates will not be considered. Work Environment Laboratory-based role. Individual contributor working under general supervision.
Requires collaboration within a team-based research environment. Preferred Background:
Candidates with experience as a Lab Technician or Lab Assistant in an academic or pharmaceutical laboratory setting. Benefits:
