Associate Scientist

Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay: $24–25/hour + Benefits

I'm partnering with a leading biotechnology company seeking a Research Associate I to support protein formulation and drug product development. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career scientist looking to gain hands‑on experience in biologics, analytical testing, and pharmaceutical development within a collaborative R&D environment.

• Execute formulation and drug product development studies for sterile liquid, lyophilized, and pre‑filled dosage forms.
• Prepare formulation batches to support stability studies and preclinical research.
• Perform routine analytical testing, including pH, osmolality, density, moisture content, and sub‑visible particle analysis.
• Prepare laboratory buffers, reagents, and samples while maintaining accurate experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs).
• Author and maintain SOPs, protocols, and technical reports in compliance with GMP and internal documentation standards.
• Support laboratory operations through inventory management, equipment maintenance, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Present scientific findings and project updates to team members and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or another Life Science.
• Strong laboratory fundamentals, including buffer preparation and general wet lab techniques.
• Experience with analytical methods such as pH, osmolality, particle analysis, or similar laboratory testing.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with analytical techniques such as RP‑HPLC, SEC, CEX, ELISA, SPR, DLS, spectroscopy, HIAC, MFI, or Karl Fischer.
• Exposure to protein characterization, stability studies, sterile manufacturing, or lyophilization.
