Salary range: $55,000 - $70,700.
Position descriptionDr. Liz Chrastil, Principal Investigator of the Spatial Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, is seeking a Junior or Assistant Specialist. The role supports research as part of a team and may include independent projects depending on experience.
The Lab uses dynamic and interdisciplinary methods, including fully immersive virtual reality (VR) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), to study how the brain processes information for navigation in a complex world.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Project management and coordination.
- Conducting human subject research in immersive virtual environments.
- Data collection and processing for behavioral and neuroimaging datasets.
- Statistical and descriptive data analysis.
- Training and supervising undergraduate research assistants.
- Charting study progress and managing IRB protocols.
- Overseeing general lab operations.
Additional duties may be assigned based on the candidate’s skills and interests. A two‑year commitment is strongly preferred.
QualificationsApplicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in a BA or BS program in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field at the time of application.
