Position Overview
Opportunity to conduct research in cardiovascular and dual‑energy CT within the Department of Radiological Sciences at UC Irvine. The laboratory focuses on medical x‑ray imaging for cardiovascular disease and cancer diagnosis. Researchers with a broad background in medical physics, physics, electrical engineering or related fields are preferred.
SalaryThe annual salary range for this position is $69,073–$82,836, as per the Postdoctoral Scholar Rate Table.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will conduct research investigations in cardiovascular and dual‑energy CT. The role involves developing and applying advanced CT physics and image processing techniques to improve diagnosis. Responsibilities include designing experiments, analyzing data, publishing findings, and collaborating across the department.
Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in medical physics, physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in CT physics.
- Experience in dual‑energy material decomposition CT.
- Background in image processing, computational modeling, or quantitative imaging.
Strong motivation to pursue an academic medical physics career, solid background in physics, mathematics, and software or hardware development skills, and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
