Position: Director, HEOR Strategy (Dermatology)

Job Description

The Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) leads the development & execution of projects for on‑market and pipeline development assets, serving as the brand/asset leader on cross‑functional teams and in pipeline commercialization. The director is accountable for HEOR strategies and execution for at least one asset or indication in the US or internationally. The director may have 1–2 full‑time direct reports.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the design and conduct of projects and effectively communicates findings and strategic impact to internal and external audiences.
  • Provides product leadership to HEOR strategic direction consistent with business goals established with cross‑functional partners.
  • Ensures project plan aligns with product strategic plans and commercial interests; provides updates on execution and owns project decisions.
  • Accountable for end‑to‑end delivery of HEOR book of work under remit, from strategy development to content pull‑through.
  • Ensures strong partnership with all relevant HEOR COE functions to represent a comprehensive HEOR voice in cross‑functional meetings.
  • Demonstrates executive presence and ability to engage senior leaders in cross‑functional settings.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in health economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of seven years of working experience; a Master’s degree with at least five years, or a PhD (fellowship experience acceptable). Professional training in a health field (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus.
  • Preferred:
    PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or pharmacoepidemiology with at least three years of relevant experience; clinical research experience strongly recommended, especially within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Typically 3+ years of clinical development experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academia, or health‑related consulting, with expert knowledge in a relevant therapeutic specialty.
  • Proven leadership skills in a cross‑functional global team; ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy.
  • Ability to operate effectively in uncharted territory with limited guidelines or in complex regulatory environments.
  • Skilled at developing creative solutions to inter‑ and intra‑project priority conflicts, resource constraints, and other project‑level challenges.
  • High goal orientation with a focus on solutions amid development ups and downs.
  • Extensive knowledge of the global regulatory, HTA, and PR&A landscape and understanding of other development‑related functions across all phases of drug development.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing scientific personnel in clinical research; self‑starter with strong desire for commercial success.
