The Department of Health, Society, & Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in disparities in health care utilization.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent by the start of the appointment and have a strong research background in the diverse research areas the HSB faculty focus on. The incumbent is expected to work independently with occasional supervision and will have (co-) authored at least 4 or more peer‑reviewed articles in area of study and focus.

• Health disparities research: understanding socioecological/multi-level theories of contextual risk factors, quantitative analysis, epidemiological methods,
• Population-based research: exposure and risk assessment, environmental justice, application of big data and machine learning in social and behavioral health:

Requires candidates with strong data analytical skills and/or community engagement research experience. Preference will be given to candidates with solid background in epidemiology, mixed methods, experience with large datasets, and with excellent communication skills.

Postdoc level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year; renewal is dependent on availability of funding.
